Harnesses are one of our rules. The boat doesn't move unless both dogs are in them. Dylan hates getting into his and runs away when he sees Karen getting it. We should make a video of that!
We have a checklist that must be completed before the boat ever moves in place. "Dogs in harnesses" is one of the items. They're also in harnesses whenever they're in the dinghy. A dog is too hard to pull out of the water without the harness. And we've had to pull both dogs out of the water using the harnesses already (it's only happened from the dinghy thankfully).
Karen and Jeff have logged some 20,000 nautical miles cruising between Maine, Key West, and the Bahamas on their DeFever 53RPH named aCappella. Our crew are our yellow labrador retriever dogs - Dyna and Dylan. Dyna is 13 years old and was given to us after retiring from our breeder. She is Tucker's mother for those of you who know the full story. Dylan (Celtic god of the waves) is 4 years old and is the grandson of Dyna. Our blog and our adventures center around the voyages we take together generally through the eyes of our crew.
Karen and Jeff are the founders of ActiveCaptain (www.activecaptain.com).

In the 1st vid, I like the dog harnesses, which are similar to ones we have for Katie & Riggs. We bought ours at Victorias Secret!
The second vid, with the warm, calm day and sandy beach, make me wish I could instantly beam Spray 800 miles south for a rendevous.

Cassie and Godiva loved the video. "Can we go back there again Mom and Dad, Please, Please"
