Settling In

We arrived back on the boat a week ago. I came down with a cold the day before we left and we debated waiting. Jeff decided he could drive the whole way while I slept in the car. We stopped at our usual Red Roof Inn and met the "one well-behaved dog requirement." I slept little because even my teeth hurt.

Needless to say we had a slow start back at the boat only made worse when Jeff caught my bug and was sick on his birthday...

But fortunately the kids knew just what to do. They settled back into all their favorite spots, immediately remembered their morning walk to shore, and have resumed meeting and greeting their two- and four-legged friends.

They are carefully supervising all activities to ensure we are ready to throw off the lines in two weeks. We hope to do a bit of anchoring but it is so, well, bloody hot and humid! The A/C has been running around the clock. If you want to know the best spot to catch the cool air just check in with Dyna.

Happy Birthday Jeff. We finally made the leap from land. At present we are anchored on Back Creek off the Sassafras River. We have a ton of reviews to catch up on, but we are finally living on our S/V Elle & I. I hope at some point we'll be close enough to actually meet. For now:
Fair winds & Smooth sailing,

Hi Elaine & Lawrence - we're in Virginia on the Chesapeake about ready to head up to Annapolis. We'll be speaking at the SSCA Annapolis Gam in a couple of weeks. Then we're floating around the various events and rendezvous until the end of October when we'll head south.

Safe travels!
